Volunteer Information

FFA Students & Parents:

This event is not possible without you. 

We need as much volunteer participation as possible starting Wednesday evening before the show through Sunday evening to ensure the event runs smoothly. 


The following is what you need to know for the craft show:

Volunteer Opportunities:

  • Monday before show - Put out craft show signs on the streets in the surrounding areas. 
  • Wednesday and Thursday before show - Set-up, decorating and taping of the exhibit floors in all four buildings will be on Wednesday from 5:30 PM – 9:00 PM.  Gates/fences in the arena will be moved at this time.  Thursday will be reserved for additional decorating as needed.
  • Friday before show - Vendor check-in and move in will be from 8:00 AM – 9:00 PM.  Students and parents can help vendors move in and finish set up for the show. Concessions will need help with setup.​
  • Saturday - Show Day  -  We will be working craft show from 6:30 AM – 5:00 PM.  A drink will be provided every 2 hours worked and food will be provided for every 4 hours worked for student and parent volunteers.
  • Sunday - Show Day -  We will be working craft show from 7:00 AM – 6:00 PM. All students should be available for clean up.  Clean UP will be from 3:30 PM to 6:00 PM.  This is an extremely vital time and as many volunteers as possible are needed.  The building must be clean and all vendors out of the building by 6:00 PM or an additional payment to the Exhibit Center will be required.  Everyone will be tired, but working together we can get it done.
  • If you have not signed up for a set position, please come anyway.  Volunteers are always in need and there will be a place for you to work.  As a bonus, you will meet a bunch of GREAT people.

Bake Sale:

  • All students are required to bring 2 baked good items for the bake sale.  Please package your items to sell in the bake shop.  For example 1 item would consist of 2 dozen cookies or brownies packaged 3 to a bag or possibly a whole cake or pie for the cake walk. The baked goods should be brought by 9:00 AM Saturday morning.  Please see the Bake Shop page for more information.


Miscellaneous:

  • Volunteer & Student parking:  On show days, please leave the concrete area by the concessions & parking lot in front of the arena for craft show customers.  Designated Parking is the section in front of the science center, closest to the Ag barn.  Click for map.
  • Parent volunteers, please wear your FFA shirt if you have one.
  • All students need to wear/bring their FFA shirt on Sunday for the picture. The picture will be taken at 3:00 PM in the bleachers.
  • All students and parents must sign in and sign out at the Volunteer/Student table in the Concessions area.  All parents and students will get credit for the hours worked so please stop by the table.  Only checking in with your Committee Chair is not sufficient. 
  • Students are expected to work at least 4 hours over the course of the weekend.  Prizes will be awarded to students who work the most hours.  Incentives will be offered throughout the weekend so be sure you're there!
  • All volunteers in Concessions will need to wear a ball cap and have their hair pulled back.
